Comprehensive or full orthodontic treatment (full upper & lower braces) is suggested when issues that involve alignment of the teeth, how the upper & lower jaws function and how the bite fits together. The goal of comprehensive orthodontic treatment is to correct the issues at hand and create a healthy, beautiful smile that will last a lifetime.
Treatment can begin while patients have primary teeth, when they have a mix of primary and permanent teeth, or when all permanent teeth are in.
Orthodontic treatment to correct a problem may prove less costly than the additional dental care required to treat the more serious problems that can develop in later years.
Orthodontic care may be coordinated with other types of dental treatment. When finished with full treatment, the patient must wear retainers to keep teeth in their new positions.
